When given the option to give life to an otherwise inanimate object I thought, "What's more inanimate than a rock?!" But while giving a rock motion might bring it life, it would be rather boring on its own - hence the entrance of Mr. Hammer. With this addition, I wanted the hammer to be out to crush the little rock in a way that is playful, yet ridiculous. In order to achieve this idea without extensive photoshop reliance or tacky hands in the frame, I created makeshift marionettes out of spare wood and fishing line. After shooting I added a vignette overlay, desaturated the images a bit, and removed lines that I thought were 'too visible.'
